circa 1860, with 3 3/4in. octagonal to round barrel, blade fore-sight, the right side of barrel throat signed 'A. PLIERS BREVETE', hinged locking device secured via a thumb-wheel screw to barrel mount, borderline and scroll engraved open iron frame, engraved plain six-shot cylinder tensioned via a flat-spring to the front and indexed via a castellated detachable back-plate, one castellation serving as a safety position, chequered walnut strongly flaring grips with carved heads and double action mechanism with guarded trigger
